The Perfect Song
Hai there! Back again with me in parallel- blog! How are you? I hope you
always safe and healthy. Today, I will post about song that the best represents
the story. As usual, I will choose one for reading and one for listening. Let’s
go!!
The first one is reading text title is Orpheus Descending by Jenny Dooly, level 2 with 6636 words. It is about the myth of Orpheus, the son of Calliope—muse of the epic poetry—and King Oeagrus. He was a legendary singer and musician of ancient Greece. When Orpheus was born, his parents made a great celebration and Apollo—god of music and light—gave Orpeus the most valuable thing he had—his lyre—he also kissed Orpheus forehead and filled the baby’s body by special power. The song I think will suitable with this story is You Are The Reason by
Calum Scott, especially when Orpheus decide to take back Eurydice—his wife who
died from being bitten by a venomous snake—from underworld. Here is the music video.

And If I could
turn back the clock
I’d make sure
the light defeated the dark
I’d spend
every hour, of every day
Keeping you safe
And I’d climb
every mountain
And swim every
ocean
Just to be
with you
And fix what I’ve
broken
Oh, ‘cause I
need you to see
That you are the
reason.

I choose this song, especially that part because I think it
is depicts Orpheus’ struggle to get his wife back. This is because Pluton could
not allow anyone to go back to the upperworld easily.
Ok, next. The second story is for my listening story title Christmas Oranges directed by John Lyde. The duration of this film is one hour forty minutes, you can watch it here. This is about Rose, an orphan girl who must leave her orphanage home and move to a far more harsh orphanage, where the headmaster doesn’t like her right away. But she doesn’t give up, she keeps her spirit up by looking forward to a traditional Christmas gifts. When the holiday arrives, something unexpected happens. Actually, this is a heartwarming movie.

I think this film will suitable with Rise by Katy Perry, when Rose should leave her old orphanage and her friends who also live in the same orphanage. Here is the music video, enjoy it!

I must stay conscious
Through the madness and chaos
So I call my angels
They
say
Oh, ye of so little faith
Don’t doubt it, don’t doubt it
Victory is in your veins
You know it, you know it
And you will not negotiate
Just fight it, just fight it
And
be transformed

In my opinion, the song—that part—really despict Rose’s struggle when she lives in the new orphanage with the harsh headmaster and other children who like to annoy her—not all of them, there are still some who defend her like Emily.
Well…
I think that’s all for today. Thank you for reading my blog and see you on my
next post, bye bye!!
